Use custom symbols in GNS3

Starting with GNS3 1.4 you can use your own symbol for a node.

You can change the symbol directly from the topology with a right click:

Or in the vm settings in the preferences.

You can use a symbol from any place of your hard drive:

Or search in your symbol library:

Add a symbol to your library

If you want to add a symbol to the library. In the preferences you have the location of a symbols directory. The symbol should be a SVG or a PNG file.

 

Just drag and drop files in the symbols directory. They will be available in the symbols selector dialog.

Portability

The custom symbols are exported to the project directory. You can safely copy a project to another computer.
